Faith over Fear

As I sit staring  out across an almost empty church I feel hurt, unbelief, frustration, even anger at the vacant pews.  I’m at a loss as to how Christian people can have so much fear that they would forgo going to church! I mean, the one you’re praying to, to keep you from getting this virus you will not go worship as he’s commanded!! It baffles my brain!! Afraid to come to church, but fine to go to the store, work, family get togethers and much more!  No, I feel most Christians are using this for an excuse to get away with something their heart has longed to to anyway! There is NO reason that a child of God should fear going to the Fathers House! None! And nope! I don’t care what the reasoning is! If   HE is able to save and keep your stinking soul, he’s more than capable to keep you safe from this virus!!!

Life as the Preachers wife can be a lonely one. I wish sometimes that I was back at home where I was raised having cookouts with lifelong friends, going on vacations together, getting to know their children. Alas, that is not what God had planned for me and oftentimes my heart yearns for the closeness of home. I’ve missed my brother And sister’s  children growing up, my best friend from youth has 3 children who wouldn’t even know my name.  I know we are doing what God wants, but I wonder if our church really understands what we have given up to serve here. Most of the time I don’t feel they even care. Maybe I’m just in a blah mood today! Having done all, STAND. So, here I stand.

Hi blog world, I guess this is where ya go when you really don’t want people to see what you are thinking!;) I wonder sometimes if we should move on. We’ve pastored for almost 14 years. It’s been the hardest thing I’ve ever been a part of. I feel like we take two steps forward a 4 steps back. I’m tired! There are weeks I feel like we are making a difference and the church really loves us! Then there are months where I feel they couldn’t care less! It’s disheartening to work, love, and pray for a group of people and not see fruits! Like even if they read this they wouldn’t feel sad that I have these feelings they would be mad that I had these feelings! It’s ok to walk all over my husband and I, but we have to smile and “ keep On  keeping on” without complaint. It’s so hard to love a people so much it hurts! I wish I felt they love and respected us. But , I don’t! God didn’t say it would be easy, but he did say he would never leave or forsake us! Until God moves us, we will fight for these people, their children, their souls!

Hey people who still read blogs. Whoever that may be. It’s been a weird year. Covid 19 has taken over leaving everyone in fear for their lives! Work, schools, even churches have closed just to “flatten the curve”. It all sounds nice but from what I hear we will still probably get the virus we have just given the medical field a little time to understand how the virus works, and how to treat it. So, after 7 weeks of “ sheltering in place” we finally get to go out and see the sun again.  Our first church service is tomorrow.  We went today and cleaned and sanitized everything. We don’t want any of our members to get sick.  Hoping they’re wrong about the virus and the hot summer will kill it off and we won’t have a rebound this fall.

It’s been a long time!

Wow! I was reading over all my old post, good memories. Things always seem to change. Some change is good. Some not so good. Life moves on. Friends you once held so dear, now, don’t hardly speak. Jobs come and go. People come into your life and then leave. People change, God never does.

A Yearly Update

I never ever get on the computer as you can tell, and the only reason I updated this is because of my sweet and precious daughter Laura... Nothings really going on. Just teaching the 3rd & 4th grade.

New Van!!!

Well i haven't blogged in a long time, but I had to write about my new van. I love it !! It is a 2008 Dodge Caravan. It is red and awesome! I love it!!! I can't believe we have a new van. The Church was so nice to get it for us. We have such a great church. They are the best group of people. Have I said how much I love my new red Dodge Caravan. Thanks Church your the greatest.

Happy Thanksgiving

Well hello everyone, it's been a long time since I have blogged. I have been so busy since school started. All is well here in south Texas. We had a great Thanksgiving, hope everyone else had a great time. I can't believe that Christmas is so close. I just found out my brother and his family will be coming down for Christmas and I am so Happy.I miss them so much I don't even know their youngest which is the saddest thing cause I love the other two like they are my own. Maybe we can get to know him a little better while he is down here. Well better go for now. bye

New News

Well Just thought I would update you on my Job. The "principle" came to me today and asked if I would be willing to take the fourth grade after lunch for History, Science,Reading and Spelling. I am so excited, finally I get to do something I know how to do. It will just be two days a week to start, but I am hoping that they will let me have the class after they see that I can do it. Unfortunately there is no raise with this job and I don't get out of any of my other dutys. It is going to be hard to get all the work done, but i know I can do it.

NEW JOB!!!!!!

Well most of you know I now have a new job, at Destiny Christian School. The first couple of days have been a little difficult. I show up the first day at 8:00 and then find out I was to be there at 9:00. Then I walk into an office that has been trashed, they simply say," welcome have fun". Tuesday I made friends with this BIG copier that has more drawers than a dresser, and enough buttons to scare someone to death. I think I know how to work it now. Today was not so bad . I spent two hours this morning taking a test for food service ( I made a 100 ). Then I did a bulletin Board. I met with some Parents that want to put their kids in the school, and ended the day with a staff meeting. I still don't know what I am doing. I feel a little lost. Please pray That I will be able to learn fast,and be able to do what is asked of me.

And the rockets red glare the bombs bursting in air ,gave proof through the night that our flag was still there. Oh say does that star spangled banner yet wave or the land of the free and the home of the brave.
Can you imagine what it was like for Francis Scott Key, down in the belly of the ship. He could hear the bombs, he knew lives were being lost and he knew England had more power. He also knew that Americans would fight to the death for their freedom. All night long he would ask, can you see her? Is she still flying? As The sun rose that faithful morn , I believe you could hear this question come from him .. Oh say does that star spangled banner yet wave or the land of the free and the home of the brave ? Praise the Lord for our Brave forefathers who loved God enough to fight for freedom, so you and I could worship God and be FREE!!!!!!

Call me Gone!

Ok it's time for vacation. We were going to go to NC for vacation, but because Mark could not get off for as long as we needed ;we are spending just the weekend in SanAntonio.I love it there and am looking forward to the break. I don't know which theme park to go to , Sea World or Fiesta Texas. Let me know which one you all think we should visit. Well I must close. I'll think of you guys here at home while i'm out having fun. HEHEHAHA....KIM

School is almost out for the Laiklams

Well, I can't believe it. We will be finished with school on Friday , and I will be able to spend some time on other projects. I am so burnt out on school. I ordered the V.B.S. kit last night and hope to get it early next week. I know Bible school is going to be hard this year ,but I can't think of any better way to spend my summer. There is nothing I would rather do than tell little children that their life has a purpose and its not just to live and die .Christ came to this earth and gave His life so that we could have eternal life with Him. I think that is something worth shareing. There is lots to get done before bible school. I need to paint classrooms and get all the crafts ordered and snacks and all that fun stuff.I'm kindof looking forward to it .( not the hot) So get ready summer cause here I come...

Hello

Hey guys I've been very busy. There has been construction going on over here. I now have a beautiful Front porch and a great big closet. It is so nice. I just bought rockers to go outside and they look so good. I also have three hanging baskets on the porch. Me and the kids planted grass in the front yard and it seems to be growing.(can't believe it). I thank the Lord for all the things He lets me have.He is so good to me. He loves me like I Am his only child. Well I hope it wont be so long before my next post, but you never know things are just getting started. God Bless!

Hi There!!!

I am sorry I haven't updated in a while, I have been so busy these last couple of weeks. I am so thankful for the washer, dryer, stove, TV, and thd dishwasher (Laura loves that) that has been given to me.When I find my camera I will post some pictures of them. Fun in Mexico

This is Marsha Smith and her daughter Anna, who is Lauras best friend. We were able to have them visit for a while and we had the most fun. I did not know Marsha very well but I found out she is a hoot. We took them to Mexico and there was a lot of soldier men over there it scared me but The Smiths did not seem to mind I guess if your used to soldiers always around ,like in Northern Ireland you feel wright at home.It was sad to see them leave. I hope one day to visit them.
